Important Monday July 18, 2011 meeting

FYI:  On Monday July 18, 2011 the FoMSP will be meeting with the Village Council at its regularly schedule Council Meeting. The meeting is held in the Auditorium at the Municipal Offices @ 1100 Atlantic, Milford MI. 48381. (Next to the Milford Police Station).  The meeting will start at 7:30 PM. We do not Know where the Skate Park discussion is on the agenda and that will determine what time the discussion will start.

The main topic of the discussion it seems will focus on the current approval of the location for the skate park. Information provided to the FoMSP indicates a number of the council members are concerned that the Friends of Milford Skate Park is working towards presenting a small millage request to help with funding of the Milford Skate Park. That millage request may appear on the ballot in 2012. At least one council member has called the proposed millage request a “game changer” and suggested the village Council reverse its approval of the location.

The FoMSP needs the support of the community for this project to move closer to completion. If you would like to see the skate park built , especially at GM and Milford Rds, it is important that you attend the Council Meeting on July 18th at 7:30 PM to show that support.  We look forward to seeing you there and appreciate any support you can provide.

New Year

No. We have not disappeared. Yes. We will have a skatepark. At the end of 2010 we put some things on hold as we were waiting on information from various sources. We have now received exactly what we needed and we’re moving forward full force with efforts to bring YOU a world-class skatepark.

Should you have an interest in volunteering, or being part of this monumental effort, contact our chairman rmueller328@comcast.net.

Moving Forward

The Friends of the Milford Skatepark will be going door to door throughout the township in order to garner support and seek donations. ONLY $50 a household will have this skatepark built. We hope to see you on the streets! Anyone interested in helping with this effort is strongly encouraged to do so, please use the contact applet on the site. Your support will help our community become skate destination!

In an effort to continue our push forward, some changes to the Board of Directors have been made. Mike Borg and Andy Lynch have been brought on as Directors. Mark DeGiorgio and Kelley Langen have yielded to other life commitments and decided to step back. We thank them for their hard work and service.

Meeting August 9th

Hi All

A Joint General/Board Meeting for the second Monday in August  (August 9th) has been scheduled, 7:30 PM at South Hill Church. We will discuss the Skate Park and any plans going forward. The last meeting held in June had myself and Al Zoeller in attendance. Two people cannot move this effort forward without your help. Please consider what your commitment to the effort to bring a skate park to Milford would be and let us know or be prepared to discuss at the August meeting. My advice would be that if you still want a skate park built in Milford, you should attend this meeting.  Bring others you know who may still have interest as well.

We have 3 more Texas Hold’em Tournaments scheduled for September, October, & November. We need volunteers to help with these events.
