Board of Directors Meeting Minutes – 2/7/07

Meeting Opens 7:30 PM – Meeting run by Ric Mueller

Board Members in attendance:

Ric Mueller, Greg Koenig, Angie Koenig, Mary Boyle, Lori Huisman, Al Zoeller, Dayle Sylvester

I New Business:

Financial Report:

• Mary provided 2006 reports with comparisons to 2005.

2007 Calendar/Fundraisers:

• Guinness Book of World Records – everyone to brainstorm for ideas – possibly correlate with June 21 – Go Skateboarding Day?

• S.A.W. – if we are doing it this year, all expenses to be covered by sponsors.

1. Mary to look into sponsorship info/prices, etc. Angie said she could help with research on that.

2. Banner sales like Keego Harbor Skate day – what was cost?

3. $7500 Sponsorship sales to cover SAW costs.

• Texas Hold-em – idea scratched – too involved

• Brick Paver Sales – on hold until park design is finalized a little better

• Skate Events –

1. 2007 Dates: April 28, June 16, August 18, October 13

• Raffle – Drawing May 9th at Spaghetti Dinner.

1. Needs Poster – Greg to design and get out to Board so we can print and post.

2. Get tickets sold – goal 500 tickets.

• Milford Memories – information booth? Angie to contact Joell Beether at Chamber and inquire on what we can do/costs.

• Local Corporate Solicitation

1. If we proceed with contacting local businesses, we need a person who can do follow-up calls.

2. Lori suggests we hire someone – Angie suggested we check and see if Roxanne Longuski is available to help with this as she has offered her help with this before.

• Other Ideas - Al Zoeller has friend who is Fundraiser for Cranbrooke – to see if she is available to discuss ideas at next Board meeting.

II Old Business:

• In Kind Donations – Ric working with Jon Choate and many local companies –still finalizing details.

1. If we secure help or In Kind Donation get a letter of commitment on donation item.

2. We should be OK on aggregate – will just need trucking company to haul.

• Fortune 500 - Adapt Fortune 500 letter to be for local companies – Ric to send to Board and we will evaluate and change.

• Pulte Grant Application – complete except for Cover Letter – Ric working on finishing.

• Online Grants – all were geographic – we do not fall into their parameters.

III Directors Comments:

• Special Announcement – Ric secured $5000 donation from Home Depot. They suggest we check out Kaboom.org for more donation information. Home Depot and Kaboom partnered to put play areas into communities.

• Other comments – Greg to work on Business Card template for all Board members so we can print ourselves.
